The new building is a modern fireproof structure, and is one of the finest and best equipped buildings in the country devoted exclusively to banking purposes.
It is constructed of granite and terra cotta, of the Greek Ionic order, depending for its beauty on proportion and breadth of line rather than ornamentation. This banking room is thirty-five by fifty feet, with a twenty-four foot ceiling, and is lighted on two sides by a double row of windows of large size, and a circular dome springing from the ceiling. This dome, through its harmoniously tinted art glass, diffuses a soft light throughout the room.
The above view shows a corner of the Ladies' Room to the left, the Cashier's Room in the background. To the right and nearest the Cashier's office, is the Assistant Cashier's window. Directly opposite the Ladies' Room a special window is provided for the lady customers of the bank.
